1. Course Overview
and Aims
The comprehensive massage therapy course is designed to offer a holistic approach to massage therapy by blending Ayurveda principles with Western massage techniques. Its primary aim is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both traditional and Ayurveda massage techniques.
This program contains a balanced curriculum with 10 modules that incorporates theory and hands-on practice, ensuring that students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also develop practical skills in various massage techniques.

The program aims to provide students with a holistic perspective on massage therapy by integrating Western massage techniques with Ayurveda principles with a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in various massage techniques.

- Demonstrate a strong theoretical understanding of massage therapy principles and the ability to apply them effectively in practical settings.
- Perform a wide range of Western massage techniques, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic Drainage, and Hot Stone Massage.
- Apply Ayurveda Panchakarma therapeutic techniques providing clients with a diverse array of therapeutic options.
- Earning a National Certificate at NVQ Level 4 in the occupation of Massage Therapist, thus becoming proficient practitioners in the field.
3. Programme
Structure
This programme has been designed with the view that participants should possess an adequate knowledge on Massage Therapies. The course is drawn from professionals in the field of Ayurveda. Teaching will be mainly based on both theoretical and practical aspects together with the understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Participants will gain knowledge to perform as professionals.
The certificate course in Massage Therapy is a 6-month programme with NVQ level 4. The complete program consists of 800 hours, including lectures, tutorials, practicals and assignments followed by 300 hours of Internship.The certificate course in Massage Therapy is a 6-month programme with NVQ level 4.

5. Admission
Criteria
For admission to the Advanced Certificate in Massage Therapist, participants must standard Achieve one of the following combinations.
Candidates who have sat for their Ordinary level (GCE O/L) with a minimum Of 5 simple passes
Candidates who have sat for Ordinary Level O/L with a minimum of two years Experience as a massage therapist

Learning Methods
The programme contents are delivered through lectures, classroom discussions, presentations, practical sessions, and group projects. The material for all modules taught during lessons. In most cases supporting materials, including notes, slides and sometimes videos, are made available to participants. Lecturers advise participants to do recommended reading which supplement the lecture material.

The method of evaluation is based on written examinations, assignments, and practical examinations. The evaluation for each module is given in the module evaluation criteria section. Evaluation Test
The participants are evaluated based on examination at the end of the course both theoretically and practically. The participant’s performance shall be evaluated by means of a written test, being of duration of three hours. 8. Grading Criteria
A candidates performance in each module will be graded according to the following grading scheme.

9. Awarding
Criteria
Participants who have received the aggregate average 40 or above are considered as pass and will be awarded a certificate, if the mark is above 60 will be awarded a merit certificate and if the mark is above 70 for each module will be awarded a distinction.
Academic Integrity
All exams and assessments (except where team effort is required and as such specified) are to be individual work with no discussion or collaboration with others permitted. In-class assignments may be either individual or group work as directed by the lecturer. Students are expected to adhere to the code of conduct as outlined in the NDH lifestyle campus. Any incidents of academic misconduct such as cheating, plagiarism, copying others’ work, or other inappropriate assistance on examinations will be treated with zero tolerance and will result in a grade of "F" for the course. Breaches of academic integrity may also result in other action being taken by the Institute.
